Certificate in Education Specialist (EdS) in Curriculum & Instruction: Reading/Literacy Education

The EdS certificate is intended primarily for teachers, counselors, supervisors, and administrators in elementary and secondary schools. This program provides in-depth opportunities for professional growth and specialization for persons who have completed the master’s degree. Students enrolled in this program will advance their understanding and application in areas of humanistic and behavioral studies, educational research, and reading/literacy content and teaching practices.

Program Structure

A minimum of 60 hours of graduate credit — which may include hours earned in the master’s degree — is required. All programs must be approved by the student's departmental advisor.
